Dear Terrorists by Kari Breed
Dear Terrorists,
Thank you for pointing out our flaws. Thank you for reuniting Americans with Americans under one cause. Thank you for helping us to remember what is important: family, friendship, liberty, truth, honor, respect and religious freedom. Thank you for helping us to remember that we are all of the same God, even you. Thank you for reminding us that New York is one of the greatest cities in the world. Thank you for reminding us that heroism is self-sacrificing and not always a choice. Thank you for bringing to our attention millions of people who suffer under tyrannical rule, who live in poverty, who have no running water, no freedom of speech and no humanitarian rights. Thank you for reminding us to be thankful every day for what we have. Thank you for reminding us that the pursuit of happiness is always ongoing and is never the end result. Thank you for reminding us that we do live in a great country, that most people are good people, and that the only wrong choice in life is to fail to live conscientiously. Thank you for reminding us that everyone is a child of the same creation, even if they are Buddhist, Baptist, Jewish, Wiccan, atheist, Muslim, woman, gay, pro-choice, pro-life or a terrorist. Thank you, terrorists, for reminding us of what is important in life – each other.
Sincerely yours,
Kari Breed
